KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow lead from Head Baker and work alongside the rest of the back of house team to efficiently scale, mix, portion, shape, laminate, proof, and bake-off a variety of baked goods including breads, viennoiserie, and cakes.
- Execute consistently according to prescribed recipes and standards.
- Conduct regular quality checks of baked goods, assessing taste, texture, and appearance to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Safely operate and responsibly monitor the proper functioning of equipment including ovens, mixers, slicers, cutting tools, rolling pins, lames, and electric scales.
- Adhere to NYDOH food handling practices and follow safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning supplies.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 year of professional bakery experience.
- Flexibility with schedule with the ability to work very early mornings, weekends and some holidays.
- NYC Food Protection Certificate is a plus or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Positive attitude and works well in a team environment.
